Microbiologist (scientist Ii) at Allonnia

Thomas Lankiewicz began their professional career in 2008 as a Private Swim Lesson Instructor while self-employed. In 2010, they took on the role of Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Lifeguard at Grinnell College. In 2011, they became the Head Swim Coach at Lane Swim Club. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Delaware and then as a Faculty Research Assistant I and II at the University of Maryland. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Scientific Researcher, Ph.D. Candidate, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and Graduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara. In 2023, they joined Allonnia as a Microbiologist (Scientist I).

Thomas Lankiewicz has a diverse educational background. Thomas obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology, General from Grinnell College in 2012. Thomas then went on to earn a Master of Science (M.S.) in Marine Biosciences from the University of Delaware in 2014. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Synthetic Biology of Anaerobic Fungi for Sustainable Chemical Production at UC Santa Barbara, which they expect to complete in 2022. Additionally, they have obtained a Nitrox Diver certification from IANTD in 2015, a Boater Education certification from Maryland DNR in 2011, and a PADI Open Water Diver certification from PADI in 2005.
