Jose Pena, Ph.D., is a highly experienced Principal Scientist currently at ArsenalBio and Allogene Therapeutics since July 2023 and April 2019, respectively. Earlier roles included Senior Scientist and Research Scientist positions at Monogram Biosciences and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where significant research focused on pathogen detection and host-pathogen interactions. Notable achievements include leading teams in research on viruses, bacteria, and protozoa, as well as studying immune dysregulation in HIV at the California Department of Public Health. Jose Pena earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley, after completing a B.S. in Microbiology at California State University, Long Beach.
