Kristin Russ has a diverse work experience. Kristin started their career as a Communications Intern at the Oregon School-Based Healthcare Network in July 2010 and ended in October 2010. From April 2010 to April 2011, they served on the Communications Committee at ILWU Local 5. In March 2011, they worked as a Grant Writer at CastIron Carousel Marionette Troupe, Inc, until September 2011. In July 2011, they briefly worked as a Development Assistant at Portland Revels. From February 2012 to October 2012, they volunteered as a Development Assistant at Impact NW. In October 2012, they joined ILWU Local 5 as a member of the Elections Committee, and their role ended in August 2013. Simultaneously, from October 2012 to August 2013, they worked as a Freelance Copyeditor. From June 2010 to December 2012, they had a position as a Web Content Editor at Toor Photo. Lastly, since December 2014, they have been working as a Medical Review Editor at AllMed Healthcare Management.

Kristin Russ pursued their education by first attending the University of Washington from 1996 to 1998. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. Following this, they went on to further their studies at Portland State University, where they attended from 2008 to 2010. Here, they achieved a Masters degree in Writing.
