Mark Clinton

Mark Clinton has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Mark has held various leadership roles in multiple companies over the years.

Mark started their career at Harcros Chemicals as a Development Laboratory Manager in 1989. Mark then worked at Sanofi Winthrop as a Section Head - Development, where they managed the Method Development Section and developed faster testing methods.

In 1992, they joined Sterling Health Europe, where they held roles as Head of Analytical Services, Core Category Team Leader, and Resource and Information Services Controller.

Mark then moved to Boots Healthcare International in 1995, serving as a Healthcare Project Leader/Innovation Champion and later as a Healthcare Technology Sourcing Manager. At Boots, they implemented innovative processes and tools and established best practices for product development.

In 2005, Mark Clinton joined SSL International as the Head of OTC, where they set up a new OTC Product Development function and provided technical support for manufacturing and analytical transfers.

In 2009, they joined Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, where they held various roles, including Global Innovation Director, Global Operations Director, Director of Technical Transfers, and Director of Global Technical Compliance. In these roles, they led global teams, implemented new processes and operating models, and developed product lifecycle management processes.

From 2017 to 2023, they worked at Ipsen as the Director of External Manufacturing Relationships, where they managed external manufacturing relationships.

Currently, they are the Head of Scientific Affairs, Research & Development at Alliance Pharmaceuticals Limited, starting in 2023.

Throughout their career, Mark Clinton has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a track record of implementing innovative solutions.

Mark Clinton obtained a BSc degree in Chemical & Pharmaceutical Science with a focus on Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Sunderland, from 1985 to 1989. Prior to that, they attended the Royal Grammar School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne from 1983 to 1985. Mark has also achieved additional certifications, including being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) since 2016, a Chartered Scientist (CSci) since 2004, and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and Chartered Chemist (CChem) since 1993.
