Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides . As the Director of Marketing, your role will be to lead the marketing team in executing strategic initiatives, ensuring projects are successfully completed, and providing valuable counsel to both the team and other departments. With a focus on hands-on operational execution, you will optimize internal marketing processes to drive seamless execution of initiatives. By aligning marketing efforts with broader organizational objectives, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and contributing to the continued growth and success of our organization. 

This is a remote position, working from your home office.

Essential Functions

  • Strategy Creation and Implementation: 

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to align with the organization’s mission, goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with the Chief Engagement Officer (CEO) to translate strategic marketing plans into actionable tactics.
    • Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of marketing tactics, implementing adjustments as necessary to meet organizational goals and enhance campaign performance.
  • Data driven decision making: 

    • Utilize analytics and data insights to inform marketing strategies and decision-making processes.
    • Regularly analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Peer Collaboration:  

    • Collaborate with Engagement Directors to ensure seamless integration between Marketing and Development efforts, maximizing opportunities for growth and impact.
    • Connection at the Director level across the organization to contribute to a culture of continuous progress and learning.
  • Cross-departmental Collaboration: 

    • Cultivate strong interdepartmental relationships to align marketing initiatives with the organization's broader strategic goals, ensuring cohesive and unified messaging.
    • Ensure effective communication and coordination to support the implementation of integrated marketing initiatives.
  • Project Management and Operational Execution: 

    • Lead and manage marketing projects and campaigns, ensuring they align with strategic goals, are delivered on time, and stay within budgetary constraints (if applicable).
    • Optimize internal marketing processes to drive seamless execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Brand Management

    • Maintain and enhance the AHAH brand by ensuring all external communications and materials consistently reflect the brand's persona and messaging.
    • Crisis communication experience.
  • Innovation and creative thinking

    • Stay abreast of the latest marketing trends and technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation
    • Foster a creative work environment that encourages new ideas and approaches to marketing challenges.
  • Flexibility

    • Adaptively manage team responsibilities and workloads to optimize communication efforts, particularly during disaster response situations.
    • Coordinate disaster response plans with the marketing team and ensure consistent communication to the Leadership Team.
  • We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field

  • Related Experience:  5+ years of well-rounded marketing or business development experience in positions of increasing responsibility as well as two to three years experience in a management or leadership role preferred. Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus.

  • Special Competencies/Certifications: Strong leadership and team management skills. Above average knowledge of all areas of marketing with an expertise in strategy. Exceptional written and oral communication skills and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in data analysis and performance measurement. Confident working in Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual or multilingual is a plus.

Compensation & Benefit

  • Compensation Typical starting salary is $55,000-$61,250 USD based on skills and experience, and up to $67,500 for highly qualified candidates. Annual pay increases may be available, up to a salary maximum of $80,000 USD.
