Uma B. started their work experience as a Network Support Engineer at Vyatta, a Brocade Company, in August 2010 and worked in that role until March 2013. In April 2013, they moved to the role of Software Test Engineer, Software Networking R&D at the same company and held that position until January 2019. During this time, they also worked at Viptela as a Technical Leader and Network Engineer from October 2017 to January 2019. Uma'scurrent position is Software Test Engineer at Alkira Inc, a role they have been in since January 2019.

Uma B. completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Telecommunications from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2007. Uma then pursued a Masters of Science degree in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University, which they completed in 2010.
