Mike Searles serves as the General Manager of Safety, Sustainability, and Insurance at Alinta Energy, a position held since August 2012. Responsibilities include overseeing corporate safety initiatives, sustainability reporting, setting emission reduction targets, managing the Community Development Fund, addressing compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, and developing carbon neutral products. Prior to this role, Mike served as Group Sustainability Manager for both Alinta Energy and Goodman Fielder, where significant contributions included establishing sustainability reporting programs. Earlier career experiences include senior positions at CH2M HILL, URS Corporation, and Placer Dome, focusing on project management, environmental science, and compliance. Mike holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science from the University of Newcastle.
