Simona Carbone, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University and as a Project Manager at Certa Therapeutics, in addition to working as a Consultant for Alimetry. Previously, Simona worked as a Research Officer and Research Assistant at Victoria University, focusing on the effects of pathologies on neuromuscular function in the colon, particularly regarding inflammatory bowel disease and cancer chemotherapy. The academic journey commenced with a PhD in Neurogastroenterology from Flinders University, where research centered on the neural basis for gastrointestinal contractile activity. Experience also includes tutoring for various science topics at Flinders University, contributing to medical education.
