George Douglas Torach is a seasoned professional in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) with extensive experience across multiple organizations in the humanitarian sector. Currently serving as the Country MEAL Coordinator at Alight since November 2022, George leads the MEAL team to monitor project effectiveness and accountability. Previous roles include MEAL Manager at Oxfam, where George promoted program quality culture and evidence-based decision-making, and MEAL Manager at the Danish Refugee Council, overseeing a comprehensive MEAL framework for the Syria response. George’s background includes positions at ACTED, NITA-U, Makerere University, and Computer Point Ltd, showcasing a blend of technical and managerial expertise. George holds a Master of Science in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Martyrs University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Makerere University.
