Ahmed Wais currently serves as an Area Manager at Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee) and has been with the organization since October 2016. In addition to this role, Ahmed is a Graduate and MA candidate at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University since September 2014. Ahmed has also worked as a Program Manager at the American Refugee Committee and holds a position as a Programme Coordinator with Action Aid International, responsible for implementing accountability measures through the ALPS principles and HRBA. Previous experience includes serving as Chairperson of the Somaliland National Youth Umbrella (SONYO Umbrella) from December 2010 to December 2012. Ahmed holds a Bachelor's degree in Development Studies from Admas University College and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from the University of Hargeisa.
