Syed Hussain is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering management. Currently serving as the Senior Engineering Manager at Algolia since June 2022, Syed leads the Digital Merchandising initiative, focusing on personalizing e-commerce search and discovery experiences. Prior to this role, Syed was the Engineering Manager at Instructure, directing the development of the Canvas LMS platform used by millions, and also held engineering management positions at Future Finance and GROUPON, where responsibilities included automation frameworks and platform testing. Earlier in the career, Syed worked as an Automation Systems Architect at BlackBerry and as a Software Development Engineer in Test at Volt, focusing on automation and testing frameworks. Syed's engineering foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering and a Master’s degree in Power Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology.
