Maxwell Werman has a diverse work experience. From 2016 to present, they have been a Sr. Research Associate in Technical Operations and a Research Associate in Process & Manufacturing Development at Alcresta Therapeutics. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Lab Operations Assistant at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc., where they managed the export of clinical supplies, created and kept a database of human clinical blood and cell samples, and grew and maintained cell cultures for drug testing experiments. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Laboratory Assistant and Research Assistant at The College of Wooster, where they prepared solutions, chemical mixtures, growth plates, and liquid growing culture for introductory biology labs and upper-level labs, stocked biology supplies, maintained and cleaned the biology labs, and cleaned lab equipment. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Student Assistant Coach for the College of Wooster Men's Lacrosse, where they worked with head coach and other coaches to write and create practice plans, scouted other lacrosse teams, wrote scouting manuals, and assisted in the recruiting of high-school athletes to play at the College of Wooster.

Maxwell Werman attended The College of Wooster from 2011 to 2015 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology and Evolution.
