Jake Payton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jake started their career as an intern at Geometric Ltd. in 2006, where they gained valuable experience before moving on to work as a webmaster at Presley's Outdoors from 2008 to 2011. During this time, they were responsible for managing the website and webstore, processing transactions and shipments, and providing customer support.
In 2011, Jake joined Geometric Ltd. again, this time as a design engineer. Jake worked on cab design projects for track type tractors and other large equipment, specifically focusing on the ROPS and FOPS systems. Jake successfully managed multiple projects simultaneously to ensure they met their deadlines.
From 2011 to 2017, Jake worked at FLSmidth as a design engineer, specializing in the Mill product and Sandvik Hydrocone product line. Jake led the design process for OEM replacements and custom product solutions, and had the opportunity to travel globally to oversee the manufacturing and delivery of large castings.
Since 2017, Jake has been employed at Alcast Company LLC where they have held various roles. Jake started as a foundry engineer and then transitioned to the position of interim quality manager, where they facilitated the transition between Quality Managers and gained a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations and customer relationships. Jake's contributions did not go unnoticed, and they were subsequently promoted to the role of powder coat project manager. In this position, they managed the installation and implementation of a powder coat system, oversaw employee overhead and cross-training, and ensured optimal efficiency and cost management.
Currently, Jake holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at Alcast Company LLC, a role they assumed in March 2021. As Vice President, they lead the engineering department and is involved in the development of patterns and core-boxes, casting calculations, tooling development, cost reduction initiatives, and other engineering responsibilities focused on maximizing quality and minimizing cost in the production of castings. Jake also plays a key role in the company's tool design and equipment building processes, which sets them apart from other foundries.
Jake Payton obtained an Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Technology/Technician from Illinois Central College, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Jake then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management and Applied Engineering at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale from 2009 to 2011.
