Karen Yan, PEng, MEng, PMP, is a seasoned professional in project management and development engineering, currently serving as the Manager of Program and Customer Connections at AESO since 2017, where previous roles included Senior Project Manager. Prior to AESO, Karen held the position of Assistant Project Manager at Burns & McDonnell and served as a Senior Engineer in Development at ATCO Power Canada Ltd, focusing on power development projects in North America and Mexico. Karen's career began at TransAlta, where significant contributions included roles as Senior Development Engineer and Process & Standard Engineer, emphasizing the development and project management of various power plants and facility improvement projects across North America, Mexico, and Australia. Academically, Karen holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
