Eric Viray has extensive experience in the electricity sector, currently serving as the Manager of Operations Coordination at the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) since August 2004, where responsibilities include overseeing the engineering support team in the real-time operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. Prior roles at AESO involved leading technical assessments and power system analyses, contributing to the development of the System Coordination Plan. Eric also worked as a Manufacturing Technician at Ballard Power Systems from 2001 to 2004, ensuring product quality in Fuel Cell assembly. Earlier in their career, as Superintendent and Principal Engineer at the National Power Corporation in the Philippines, Eric provided critical engineering analysis for the safe and efficient operation of generation and transmission systems. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mount Royal University and Saint Louis University, as well as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Power System) from the University of the Philippines.
