Michael McCallum has a diverse work experience in the construction and energy industry. Michael started their career at Siemens AG in 2000 as a Steam Turbine Technical Field Advisor and Lead Site Mechanical Engineer, where they provided technical guidance and oversaw installation and maintenance work for steam turbine-generator sets. In 2004, they joined Hitachi, Ltd. as a Construction Manager and Turbine and BOP Field Manager, being responsible for overall construction management and logistical coordination for large power generation facilities. Since 2012, Michael has been working at Alberici Constructors, first as a PMP Project Manager and later as the Director of Project Development-Energy and Industrial, where they oversee project development in the energy and industrial sectors.
Michael McCallum attended Virginia Tech from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2009, they briefly attended the Oregon Institute of Technology to study Renewable Energy.
