Saskia Makker-Velthuis has extensive experience in educational leadership and governance, currently serving as a member of the supervisory board at SCIO Groep voor Opvang en Onderwijs since January 2021, and as a member of the advisory board for Stadsfonds Hilversum since April 2017. Saskia has been the chair of the board at Alberdingk Thijm Scholen since August 2012. Previous roles include serving on the supervisory board of Stichting Kinderopvang Hoorn from January 2019 to December 2020, and as rector of Alberdingk Thijm College from August 2006 to July 2012. Earlier in the career, Saskia was involved in various positions including teacher, dean, and director at Groot Goylant VMBO, and worked in production and sales at World Fashion Centre Amsterdam Holding N.V. after managing the internal department at Van Duijnen Design. Education includes an Advanced Certificate in Leadership in International Education from the University of Bath, a foundational degree in law from Utrecht University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education from Pedagogische Academie Ludgerus.
