Philip O'Brien has a diverse work experience in various roles. Philip started their career as a Massage Therapist at Massage Envy in 2005. Philip then worked as a Sales Associate at Super Supplements from 2005 to 2009, where they eventually became an Assistant Manager. In 2010, Philip joined Natural Pantry as a Sales Associate before transitioning to Avante Medical Center, where they held multiple roles. At Avante Medical Center, they worked as a Dispensary Supervisor/IT Specialist from 2010 to 2014 and later became an Athena Project Manager/IT Specialist/Dispensary Manager from 2014 to 2020. In 2016, Philip briefly worked as the Owner of PGO Consulting, where they supported medical clinics implementing Athena Health's EHR. Currently, they serve as a Biomedical Systems Administrator III at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.

Philip O'Brien attended Ashmead College of Everett, WA from 2003 to 2004, where they obtained a Massage Certificate in the field of Massage Therapy/Therapeutic Massage. Prior to that, in 2002, they attended Everett Community College and earned a General Equivalency Diploma. In addition to their educational background, Philip O'Brien also holds certifications in CompTIA Network+ obtained in May 2020 and CompTIA A+ obtained in February 2020 from the institution CompTIA.
