Andres Bentiez Ospina

Andres Bentiez Ospina has a diverse range of work experience in various engineering and research roles. Andres started their career at the University at Buffalo as a Hydrogeology research assistant, where they conducted studies on the effects of the hyporheic zone along streams in southwestern New York state. Andres'swork involved stream gauging, salt tracer tests, data analysis, and GIS mapping to understand the movement of water in the hyporheic zone.

Following this, Andres worked as a Data Analyst at ERE Foundation, where they processed flow data and statistically analyzed fish passage flows over the Pacific Northwest. Andres utilized hydrologic techniques such as hydrography and frequency duration curves to interpret the data.

Andres then joined ERE Foundation - Humboldt State University as a Surveyor, assisting in the surveying of Bull Creek in southern Humboldt County, CA. Andres'sresponsibilities included conducting pebble counts and using a total station for surveying.

Andres then worked at LCG Lantech, LLC as a Staff Engineer, contributing to engineering projects and activities.

After that, they transitioned to the Anchorage School District as a Recycling Coordinator, responsible for coordinating recycling initiatives within the district.

Currently, Andres is employed at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) as a Civil Engineer. In this role, they are involved in the design, development, and production of construction drawings and documents. Andres also investigates sites, analyzes samples, and provides technical support.

Later, in December 2019, Andres earned a Beckett Boiler ServiceTech certification from the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC).
