Samuel Chavez has a strong background in the telecommunications industry. Samuel is currently working as a Telecom Engineer at Alaska Communications, starting in September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Copper Valley Telecom for several years, starting as a Network Engineer I/II in October 2011 and progressing to roles such as System Administrator, Director of Technology, and Engineering Manager (Switching & Networking Manager). Their responsibilities at Copper Valley Telecom included designing, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading network infrastructure and equipment, as well as coordinating customer service issues and facility repairs.
Samuel Chavez's education history starts in 2002 when they attended the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, although the field of study is unknown. Samuel then transferred to Southwestern Adventist University in 2003 to pursue a degree in Computer Science, which they completed in 2004. In terms of additional certifications, Samuel obtained various certifications in telecommunications and network technologies from institutions such as Teracom Training Institute, Metaswitch Networks, Fujitsu Network Communications, ADTRAN, and Ericsson. Notably, Samuel obtained a Drone Pilot Certificate from Airdata UAV in 2022 and an FAA TRUST Certificate from UAV Coach in 2021.
