Tao Cheng is currently the Group Leader of Mobility at The Alan Turing Institute, where responsibilities include overseeing the Science of Cities and Regions Programmes, as well as serving as Theme Lead for Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief within The Security and Defence Programme. Since July 2006, Tao Cheng has also been a Professor at University College London, holding the position of Director and Founder of SpaceTimeLab. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Geographic Information Science obtained from Wageningen Agricultural University and the International Institute for Geo-Information Science & Earth Observation, an MSc in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, a BSc in Civil Engineering Surveying from the same institution, and currently pursuing an HDR (D.Sc.) in Geography at Université Louis Pasteur – Strasbourg I.
