Ashante' Blackman Batson

Regional MTSS Implementation Coach at Alabama State Department of Education

Ashante' Blackman Batson currently serves as a Regional MTSS Implementation Coach at the Alabama State Department of Education, a position held since August 2023. Prior to this, Ashante' held the role of Dean of Students at Metro Nashville Public Schools from August 2017 to June 2023 and served as a Physical Education Instructor at the same institution from January 2003 to May 2017. Ashante' holds an Education Specialist (ED.S) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, obtained between 2005 and 2007, and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in the same field from the same institution, completed from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, Ashante' earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Tuskegee University, studying from 1999 to 2002, and completed academic studies at Father Ryan High School.
