Matthijs de Langen has extensive work experience in various roles within the field of business operations and logistics. Matthijs started their career in 1997 as a SAP-consultant at Capgemini Nederland, where they worked until 1998. After that, they joined AkzoNobel in 1999 and worked as a Senior SAP-consultant until 2002. Matthijs then transitioned to a role as a Team Manager in the SAP competence center from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they served as an Information Manager from 2008 to 2009 and as a Logistics Manager from 2010 to 2011. Most recently, they held the position of Commercial Operations Manager from 2011 to 2018, and currently serves as the Director of IBP & Commercial Operations at AkzoNobel since January 2019.

Matthijs de Langen completed their Master's degree in Chemistry at Leiden University from 1990 to 1996. In 1993, they also attended Imperial College London to study Biochemistry for a short period.
