Swapnil Kulkarni has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Swapnil is currently serving as the Chief of Staff at akudo since November 2021. Prior to that, Swapnil was the co-founder and CPO of scool.life from May 2020 to July 2021. At scool.life, they played a crucial role in building an EdTech ecosystem for the Gig economy, focusing on learning through cohort-based courses and mentorship programs.
Before co-founding scool.life, Swapnil took a sabbatical from work from January 2018 to January 2020. During this time, they worked as an independent consultant for startups, providing guidance to early-stage product teams and learning from their experiences. Swapnil also focused on personal growth and achieved certifications in scuba diving while traveling extensively.
From May 2017 to December 2017, Swapnil worked as a Senior Product Manager at PayU, specifically on the LazyPay team. Swapnil was responsible for product strategy, roadmap development, user retention, and core product management. Under their leadership, the Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of LazyPay increased by 200x in just 8 months.
Prior to their time at PayU, Swapnil was the co-founder and CEO of Coin Mobile Technologies from August 2014 to May 2017. Coin was a mobile payments startup incubated at IIT Bombay, which was later acquired by PayU. Swapnil led the development of India's first mobile payments app that utilized Bluetooth Low Energy for merchant identification.
Before entering the startup world, Swapnil worked as an Equity Research Analyst at J.P. Morgan from April 2013 to July 2014, providing research and investment strategies for the European Insurance team. Swapnil began their professional career as a Data Analyst at Capital One from July 2011 to April 2013. In this role, they focused on credit card collections, optimizing processes, implementing strategies to minimize default losses, and managing key performance metrics.
Swapnil Kulkarni pursued their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from 2007 to 2011.
