Darren Hwang has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Darren started their career at TIBCO Software in 1996 as a Support Engineer, where they acted as a customer advocate, reproduced customer issues, and gathered information for escalation to the product team. Darren then worked as a Support Manager, leading a support team for developer SDK and messaging products. In this role, they handled various support responsibilities, including responding to customer queries, reproducing customer issues, and creating product knowledge bases. Darren then transitioned into the role of a Senior Software Engineer - Customer Advocate, where they acted as a liaison between customers and engineering, assisting in customer deployment issues and troubleshooting customer issues.

In 2006, they became a Principal Architect at TIBCO, responsible for creating single-page applications using AngularJS, Bootstrap, JQuery, CSS3, and HTML5. Darren also contributed to the open-source framework General Interface, enabling easy AJAX RIA WebApp development. Additionally, they worked as a Principal QA Engineer, leading QA for Adapter SDK Java and C++ libraries and testing frameworks for TIBCO General Interface.

In 2015, Darren joined Xactly Corp as a Principal UI Engineer, where they worked as a lead developer in the front-end team. Their main focus was creating a common UI library that could be reused across products. Darren applied various code patterns and optimization techniques to enhance application performance and tackled cross-product components.

Most recently, Darren is working at Aktana as the Director of UI Engineering, a role they assumed in November 2017.

Darren Hwang obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from DePaul University between 1994 and 1996. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, although the exact years are unknown. Additionally, they hold a certification in Software Test Management from Software Quality Engineering, obtained in December 2004.
