Alexander Kukhtin has over twenty years of work experience. Alexander began their career as a Researcher at the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology in Moscow, Russia in 1996. In 2000, they moved to Argonne National Laboratory, where they continued to work as a Researcher. In 2005, they joined Akonni Biosystems as a Senior Scientist.

Alexander Kukhtin obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) between 1988 and 1993.
