Mike Gridley has extensive work experience in the venture capital industry. Mike is currently the Managing Director at Akkadian Ventures, a role they have held since 2013. Prior to that, they were a Managing Director at Industry Ventures from 2004 to 2013, where they played a key role in the company's investments and growth. Mike was also an Associate at BV Capital / Bertelsmann Ventures from 2000 to 2003. Before entering the venture capital field, Mike worked in business development roles at Personify and the California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development. Mike began their career in international business development at the International Trade Administration.

Mike Gridley completed their education at multiple institutions. Mike obtained a Master of Science degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1997 to 1998. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy with a minor in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1991 and 1996. Their earlier educational experience includes attending San Francisco University High School from 1987 to 1991.
