Alp Mercan is a Robotics Engineer currently employed at Akgün Technology since September 2023, following a 10-month co-op internship at Akgün Robotics, where skills in robotics software algorithms were developed, contributing to projects on kidnapper recovery, auto-docking, and planning algorithms. Previous experiences include internships as a Control System Engineer at Aselsan and Turkish Aerospace, recognized among the top defense companies globally, where involvement in R&D for communication antennas and exposure to various aerospace functions took place. Additionally, Alp served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the robotics lab at Bilkent University's Mechanical Engineering Department, gaining insights into modeling and designing processes in soft robotics. Alp holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bilkent University, with an educational background that includes attendance at Ankara Bilfen Science College.
