John then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center, completing it in the years 1975 to 1979. Following that, they undertook an internship in Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1979 to 1980, and became a Resident in Internal Medicine from 1980 to 1982 at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine as well. Subsequently, they attended Harvard Medical School starting from 1983 to 1986, where they served as a Clinical Fellow in Nephrology from 1983 to 1984 and then as a Research Fellow in Transplantation & Immunogenetics from 1984 to 1986. John also appears to have some association with Harvard University, although the details are not specified.
