Miriam Micallef is an experienced professional in economic development and innovation, currently serving as Tècnica d'Innovació, Universitats i Transferència de Coneixement at Ajuntament de Terrassa since January 2017. Prior roles include positions at Vapor Llonch and Ajuntament de Sant Just Desvern, focusing on economic development and SME internationalization. Micallef has also contributed to academic institutions, serving as a lecturer on international economic institutions and world economics at ESCI-UPF and UIC Barcelona. With a solid educational background in international business and research from Universitat de Barcelona and other institutions, Micallef continues to enhance expertise in smart cities and political science through ongoing studies at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
