Taro Fujie

Executive Officer, President & CEO at Ajinomoto

Tarou Fujie is the member of the board, representative executive officer, president & CEO of Ajinomoto Co., Inc.

Fujie has served in a variety of positions both at Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and the Ajinomoto Group companies around the world. He joined Ajinomoto Co., Inc. in 1985, and his long career include his years as branch manager and vice president of Ajinomoto (China) Co., Ltd., as well as president of AJINOMOTO PHILIPPINES CORPORATION, and in Brazil as president of AJINOMOTO DO BRASIL INDÚSTRIA E COMÉRCIO DE ALIMENTOS LTDA.

With a deep understanding of the Ajinomoto Group’s business across the globe, he returned to Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Japan) in 2017 as corporate vice president and member of the executive committee, overseeing procurement, IT, HR and working style innovation. In 2021, he was appointed to lead the Food Products Division, where he worked to strengthen innovation and enhance umami-like synergies both within the company and with partners.

Fujie graduated from Kyoto University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
