Alexander Sigman has a wealth of experience in music and research. Alexander began their career in 2007 as the Artistic Advisor and Managing Director of Ensemble Modelo62, where they were responsible for grant-writing, booking, and assisting the Artistic Director in programming. In 2010, they co-founded and became the Executive Co-Director of the Menlo-Atherton Academy of Contemporary Music (MAACM). In 2012, they were appointed as an Assistant Professor of Composition at Keimyung University in Taegu, Korea. In 2013, they were a Resident Researcher at IRCAM. In 2015, they became the Associate Professor/Chair of Music at the International College of Liberal Arts (iCLA) of Yamanashi Gakuin University, where they designed and delivered courses and workshops in music technology, music and other media, music history, music theory/musicianship, and related areas. In 2018, they became an Instructor at Hosei University. In 2019, they became a Visiting Advisor at New York University and a Music Software Engineer at Amper Music, Inc., where they were a member of the Engineering team and was responsible for core technology feature development, machine learning R&D, and tooling support. Finally, in 2019 they completed a 488-hour intensive certificate program at the NYC Data Science Academy, where they studied data analysis and machine learning in Python and R, and data engineering tools and techniques. Alexander is currently a Research and Development Engineer at Aiva Technologies.

Alexander Sigman has a varied educational background. Alexander received a DMA in Music Composition from Stanford University between 2003 and 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science and a Bachelor of Music in Music from Rice University between 1999 and 2003. In 2019, they obtained a Certificate in Data Science from the NYC Data Science Academy. In 2009, they earned a Certificate in Arts Administration from New York University, and in 2007-2008 they completed a one-year course in Sonology from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. Additionally, Sigman has obtained numerous certifications from Coursera, LinkedIn, and Udemy between 2018 and 2022.
