Errico Armandillo is a distinguished expert in optics and photonics, currently serving as Co-Founder and CTO of AIRMO since February 2023, and as a member of the Technical Advisor Board at Eventech since April 2019. With extensive consultancy experience since January 2014 in optics for space science and satellite systems, Armandillo has reviewed scientific journals and provided expertise on optics satellite payload and system engineering. Previously, Armandillo was the Head of the Optoelectronics Section at the European Space Agency from April 1985 to December 2013, and held roles as a Laser Engineer and Physicist at ENEA and as a Post-Doc Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. Armandillo's early career at the UK Atomic Energy Authority involved research in laser fusion and isotope separation. Education culminated in a Doctoral degree in Engineering, specializing in Quantum Electronics, from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.
