Qiyuan Wu has a diverse work experience starting in 2011 and continuing to the present. From 2011 to 2014, they served as a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University while also working as a Research Assistant. In this role, Qiyuan developed a novel synthesis method for heterogeneous catalysts and designed and built a fixed bed reactor and temperature control unit for in-situ FTIR study of heterogeneous catalysts. They also conducted research at Brookhaven National Laboratory from 2012 to 2019, where they focused on the development of cathode materials for Li-S batteries and fundamental studies of catalytic systems. At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory from 2019 to 2022, Qiyuan worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on high-octane gasoline production from DME and syngas, as well as olefin production from ethanol. Most recently, in 2022, Qiyuan joined AIR COMPANY as a Senior Researcher and later transitioned to the role of Lead Scientist.
Qiyuan Wu holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which was completed in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Materials Engineering from Stony Brook University between 2012 and 2017. Qiyuan Wu also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Engineering Science from Stony Brook University, completed between 2010 and 2012. Their education history also includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Materials Science from Nanjing University, which was obtained between 2008 and 2010.
