Rachel Walerstein has a diverse work experience. Rachel currently works as a Learning and Talent Development Manager at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, a role they started in July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Writer and Editor as a freelancer, starting in June 2020. From August 2020 to July 2021, Rachel was a Teacher/Mentor at Fusion Academy. Rachel also worked as an Advanced SAT Reading and Writing Instructor at Elite Prep from June 2020 to June 2021.
Rachel's earlier work experience includes roles at the University of Iowa. From August 2016 to May 2020, they served as a Graduate Instructor in English, designing and leading introductory literature courses for non-majors. Rachel's earlier teaching experience includes being a Graduate Instructor in Rhetoric at the University of Iowa from August 2014 to June 2016, where they designed and led courses in composition and public speaking, emphasizing analytical skills and real-world assignments.
Rachel Walerstein has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English Literature from the University of Iowa, which they obtained between 2013 and 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from the State University of New York at Oswego, attending from 2009 to 2013. Rachel has also obtained additional certifications, including the Certified Professional In Training Management (CPTM) from Training Industry, Inc. in October 2022, as well as the Measuring the Impact of L&D Certificate from the same institution in May 2022.
