Stephen Reed has worked in the technology industry since 1985. Stephen began their career as a Programmer at Convergys Corp in 1985. In 1988, they moved to FPL as a Supervisor and Programmer, where they were the lead programmer and batch architect for the Customer Information System II. In 1999, Stephen joined Cycorp as a Senior Programmer and Artificial Intelligence research programmer and manager for three DARPA-sponsored projects. In 2006, they founded the Texai Project, where they conducted Artificial Intelligence research and development and created an RDF subset of the OpenCyc knowledge base. In 2010, Stephen founded Texai. In 2012, they became an Artificial Intelligence Consultant at Trip Champ, where they elaborated the vision of the founder with regards to the range of intelligent behavior that a virtual travel concierge should have. Finally, in 2014, Stephen co-founded and became the Chief Scientist of Ai-Blockchain, a software company focused on building the necessary components to bootstrap artificial general intelligence.
Stephen Reed attended Stony Brook University from 1969 to 1973, where they earned a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. Stephen then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1973 to 1974 for Computer Science Grad School.
