Stephen Yurek has a diverse work experience. Stephen began their career as a Consultant at Dahlen, Berg in 1987, and remained there until 1995. Stephen then worked at the National Association of Secondary School Principals as the Chief Operating Officer from 1995 to 2000. After that, they joined CompassLearning as the VP of Business Development and Public Affairs from 2000 to 2002. Since 2002, they have been serving as the President and CEO of The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute.

Stephen Yurek completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Saint John's University from 1980 to 1984. Stephen then pursued further education in the field of Law, earning a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law between 1984 and 1987.
