Giacomo Bastianelli serves as the CEO and Co-founder of Rainbow Crops since October 2023, while also holding the position of Entrepreneur in Residence at VIB. Bastianelli is involved in mentoring at biotope by VIB and Agrilife Studio, both starting in 2024 and March 2023, respectively. As the Managing Director of PROG VENTURES, Bastianelli has been engaged since 2017 in investment and advisory roles focusing on corporate strategy, fundraising, and business development. Bastianelli co-founded and led SCI-BRAIN and Lounjee, platforms utilizing AI and professional networking, respectively, from 2017 to 2024 and 2017 to 2023. Previously co-founding Meiogenix, a biotech firm, from 2010 to 2022, Bastianelli also worked with Kurma Partners until 2020. Bastianelli's extensive education includes advanced degrees from prestigious institutions such as HEC Paris, Stanford University, and Institut Pasteur, highlighting expertise in entrepreneurship, bioinformatics, and management.
