Dr Graeme Doole was appointed Innovation Centre of Excellence Leader for the Ethical Agriculture Group in January 2022.
Graeme's vision is to transform agriculture such that it better meets the needs of farmers, consumers, and society in general.
His research focuses on the design and assessment of just transitions for agricultural businesses and rural communities.
His past leadership roles include Economic Advisor to the Ministry for the Environment, member of the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee, Professor of Environmental Economics at Waikato University, and Chief Economist at DairyNZ.
Graeme's tertiary training includes Bachelor of Applied Science (Natural Resource Management) and Master of Applied Economics degrees from Massey University. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Agricultural and Resource Economics), with Distinction, from the University of Western Australia in 2008.
