Doug Blackmore has diverse work experience in the software industry spanning several decades. Doug is currently working as the CTO and software architect at Agility Forex, where they previously played a key role in launching their online Forex trading platform in 2013. Doug rejoined the company after an 8-year hiatus to help with their growth and expansion through new partnerships worldwide.

Before their current role, Doug was the owner of Studio 6 Software, where they managed the operations of the company.

Doug also worked at Resonance Software, Inc. as a Software Developer and Independent Contractor. During this period, they made significant contributions to the development of an enterprise employee scheduling desktop application, handling design and implementation, writing test cases, and providing technical support and training.

As an independent software consultant, Doug collaborated with various companies such as Pro-Tech Seal Manufacturing Inc., TechnipFMC, Pure Energy Services, Bourgeois R&D Systems, and Dow Chemical Canada Inc. At Pro-Tech Seal Manufacturing, they created custom software solutions including a sales commission calculator and reporting engine for their cross-Canada operations. At TechnipFMC, they developed an internal web-based application for managing inspection and workflow in the oil field service industry, replacing a legacy software version. At Pure Energy Services, they built an FTP client to automate file uploads, resulting in significant time and cost savings.

Earlier in their career, Doug served as a Senior Software Developer and Software Development Manager at Triant Technologies, where they created an application to simplify the configuration process of their real-time modeling software and implemented a plugin-based reporting architecture.

Additionally, they worked at Dow Chemical Canada Inc. as a Software Support and Software Developer, where they developed an idea-tracking database to support re-engineering efforts, resulting in substantial cost savings.

Doug Blackmore completed their Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) in the years 1980-1982. Doug then pursued their Bachelor's degree in Computing Science from the University of Alberta between 1993-1997.
