Mary Anderson began their work experience in 2000 as a Business Systems Trainer at MeritCare Health System. Mary then worked at Sanford Health from 2004 to 2012, starting as an IT Trainer and eventually becoming a Lead Application Support Analyst. In 2010, they briefly worked as an Application Support Specialist before returning to Sanford Health. Since 2019, Mary has been working as a Learning and Development Specialist at AgCountry Farm Credit Services.

Mary Anderson received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Mary completed their undergraduate education at this institution from 1982 to 1986. In addition to their degree, Mary also obtained a certification in High Impact Presentations from Dale Carnegie of North Dakota & Minnesota in April 2023.
