Saleem Sayani, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Saleem began their career as a Systems Coordinator for Mobilink, where they managed credit and billing systems. Saleem then moved on to be the Assistant Director of Admissions at Devry University, where they were responsible for managing the admissions department and providing network and desktop support.

Sayani's career then transitioned into the public sector, starting with their role as the Public Safety Information Technology Manager for the City of Atlanta. In this position, they were responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all activities of the Public Safety Information Technology Division. Saleem also worked closely with users to identify business requirements and managed a budget of $5 million.

Sayani's next role was at Fulton County Government, where they served as the Director of Criminal Justice Information Systems. Saleem had overall administrative and technical responsibility for managing and integrating comprehensive information systems and technology programs. Saleem also worked closely with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to ensure uninterrupted access to the Georgia Crime Information Center.

In 2010, Sayani became the Chief Information Officer and Director of IT Services for the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In this role, they provided technology vision and leadership for the enterprise-wide information technology program. Saleem was responsible for planning and implementing enterprise information systems, managing a team of cybersecurity professionals, and achieving effective and cost-beneficial IT operations.

Sayani also held various advisory and board positions, such as being an Advisory Board Member at the Maryland Digital Government Summit and a Board Director at the Georgia Technology Authority.

Saleem Sayani, PhD, has an extensive education history in the fields of technology innovation management, data science, networks and communications management, and information technology. Saleem obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Technology Innovation Management with a concentration in Data Science from Northcentral University. Prior to that, they completed a Master's in Networks and Communications Management (MNCM) from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. Saleem also attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they earned an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation, and Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where they received training in Innovative CIO. Additionally, Saleem earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Karachi University.

In terms of certifications, they obtained a Social and Behavioral Educational (SBE) certification from the CITI Program in December 2022. Saleem also holds patents for various inventions in the field of medical technology, including the "Anatomical-imaging communication device" and the "Smart Surgical Tray - Detection of surgical instruments on surgical tray." Furthermore, Saleem obtained an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in April 2017.
