Shazwim Marican has a comprehensive work experience in the technology industry. Shazwim currently holds the position of Head of Technology Strategy at AFFIN Group, starting in July 2023. Prior to this, they worked at MBSB Bank Berhad as the Head of Project Delivery from April 2020 to July 2023.

Shazwim's career began at Marconi PLC in 2002, where they served as a Telco System Engineer responsible for planning and implementing network solutions. Shazwim then joined Huawei Technologies as a Telco Optical Network Engineer, involved in the planning and design of optical transmission networks.

In 2006, Shazwim joined DiGi Telecommunications as a Telco Performance Specialist, monitoring and analyzing various network aspects. Shazwim later moved to Ericsson in 2007 as a Telco Senior Engineer, leading a team responsible for solution integration and support services delivery.

Shazwim's longest tenure was at Maybank, starting from March 2011 until April 2020. Shazwim held the position of Senior IT Project Manager and was responsible for regional IT infrastructure analysis, strategy planning, and business case development. Shazwim also managed project team members.

Shazwim Marican pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a major in Software Engineering from 1998 to 2001 at Universiti Malaya. Prior to that, from 1991 to 1995, Shazwim attended Malay College Kuala Kangsar, though no specific degree or field of study was mentioned during this time.
