Bret Jordan, MS, CISSP has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to present. In 2012, they began working at Solera Networks as the Director of Advanced Threat Training in the Office of the CTO. In 2013, they moved to Blue Coat Systems as the Director of Security Architecture and Standards in the Office of the CTO. In 2017, they moved to Symantec as the Director of Cyber Security in the Office of the CTO. In 2019, they moved to Broadcom Inc. as the CTO Emerging Technologies and Senior Product Manager. That same year, they joined the Cybersecurity Best Practice Exchange as a member of the Cybersecurity Executive Leadership Board. In 2020, they joined the Cyber Threat Intelligence Network as a member of the Technical Advisory Board. In 2016, they joined the Cyber Resilience Institute as an Instructor for the c-Watch Program. In 2015, they joined OASIS as the Chairman, Co-Chairman, and a member of the Board of Directors. Finally, in 2022, they joined Afero as the Chief Security Strategist.
Bret Jordan has an extensive educational background. Bret received a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Capella University in 2017. In 2019, they completed a MicroMasters in Cybersecurity from Rochester Institute of Technology. Bret is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Cyber Security from Southern Utah University, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Bret also attended University of Utah from 1994 to 2001, where they studied Physics, Math, and German.
Jordan has several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2005, Network+ from CompTIA in 2006, iNet+ from CompTIA in 2004, A+ from CompTIA in 2017, Network+ from CompTIA in 2017, GREM from GIAC Certifications in 2006, GAWN from GIAC Certifications in 2006, and GCIH from GIAC Certifications in 2006. Bret also completed a course in Advanced Network Worm and Bot Analysis from The SANS Institute in 2006, and a course in Reverse-Engineering Malware: Tools and Techniques Hands-On from The SANS Institute in 2006.
