Gautam Prabhakar is an Optical Systems Engineer at Aeva, Inc. since January 2020, specializing in the design and development of fiber and free-space optical architectures for FMCW LiDAR-based 3D depth sensing. Responsibilities include building prototypes, characterizing system performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and conducting failure analysis while applying six sigma principles. Prior to this role, Gautam was a Graduate Research Assistant at Boston University from September 2013 to September 2019, focusing on high power fiber lasers, imaging techniques, nonlinear optics, and fiber device fabrication. Additionally, experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and participating in internships that involved advanced optical technologies. Gautam holds a PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Boston University and a B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Delhi Technological University.
