A.J. Schall has a diverse work experience. A.J. served as the Director & Governor's Homeland Security Advisor at the Delaware Emergency Management Agency from 2015 to the present. Prior to that, they were the Chief at Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company since 1999. A.J. also worked at Bank of America, where they held various roles including Vice President Group Management from 2006 to 2015 and Officer-Facilities Management, Activation Team Leader, and Management Development Program from 1998 to 2003. In addition, they worked in public safety at St. Ambrose University from 1995 to 1998.
A.J. Schall completed the Executive Leaders Program in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Related Protective Services at the Naval Postgraduate School from 2018 to 2019. In 2016, Schall also participated in the Commandant's National Security Program (CNSP) at The United States Army War College. Prior to these programs, Schall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from St. Ambrose University in the years 1994 to 1998. Schall completed high school at Marmion Military Academy from 1992 to 1994. Additionally, Schall obtained certifications in Fire Officer I and II from the IFSTA institution.
