Idel Perez

Group Lead - Structural Analysis Engineering at AeroTEC

Idel Perez has a diverse work experience in the field of structural analysis engineering. Idel started their career at General Dynamics-OTS, where they worked on their academic thesis. After that, they joined Boeing as a Structural Analysis/Design Intern Engineer, where they gained experience in composite panel design and finite element modeling.

Idel continued their career at Boeing, working in various roles within the Structural Analysis field. Idel was involved in the 787 Development Program, conducting multidisciplinary structural/thermal finite element analysis to support certification tests. Idel also worked on the sizing and optimization of composite main wing boxes for Boeing's New Airplane Product Development Group.

Perez then moved on to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, where they contributed to the joint development and production of the 787-9/-10 Section 45 Mid-body Fuselage Group. Idel focused on sizing and optimizing the composite pressure deck panel and performed stress checks to meet the requirements of Boeing and the FAA.

After that, Perez joined ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. for the Boeing and ShinMaywa Industries Joint Development and Production. Idel worked on the sizing and optimization of the composite honeycomb core panels of the 777-9X Section 49 Wing to Body Fairing.

Perez then worked as a Structural Analysis Engineer at B/E Aerospace, where they developed stress analysis methods for the Bombardier Dash 8-300 Large Door Passenger-to-freighter Conversion Program.

Prior to their current position, Perez worked at Inceptra as a Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA Senior Application Engineer. Idel specialized in simulation, conducting analysis procedures such as static nonlinear analysis, linear dynamics, and heat transfer analysis. Idel also provided pre-sales and post-sales technical support for SIMULIA products.

Currently, Perez holds the role of Group Lead - Structural Analysis Engineering at AeroTEC - Aerospace Testing Engineering & Certification Inc. Idel leads the Structural Stress Analysis team, supporting projects such as STC modifications and experimental aircrafts. One of their notable projects is the modification of a De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft by replacing the turbo prop engine with a hydrogen-powered electric motor for the Universal Hydrogen Demonstrator program.

Overall, Idel Perez has a strong background in structural analysis engineering, with experience in aerospace testing, simulation, and design for multiple aircraft programs.

Idel Perez completed a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida, with a duration from 2002 to 2006. During the same period, they also obtained another Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2010, Idel Perez pursued a Master's Degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington.
