Jack McCandless has a diverse work experience in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and avionics. Jack started their career as a Technical Intern at Skycorp Incorporated in 2015 and later transitioned to the role of Computer Aided Design Technician. In 2017, they became a Computer Aided Design Engineer at the same company.

In 2018, Jack joined Menlo Park Fire Protection District as a UAV Technician, where they maintained and enhanced the UAV fleet for first responders. Jack also provided voluntary advisory services in this role. Around the same time, they became a UAV Engineer at Matternet.

In 2019, Jack joined Gather AI as a UAV Engineer, focusing on unmanned aerial vehicle technology. Jack also worked at the Museum of Future Sports as a Program Coordinator, organizing and coordinating programs related to future sports.

From 2021 to 2022, Jack worked at Masten Space Systems as an Avionics R&D engineer. Jack led avionics integration for the Masten Space Systems Eclipse Lunar Lander, managed clean room operations, conducted vacuum chamber testing, and oversaw the acceptance process of avionics components. Jack also handled the video department for avionics testing.

Prior to that, in 2016, Jack served as a Lead Educator/Developer at Aerial Sports League, where they played a key role in education and development related to unmanned aerial vehicles.

Most recently, in 2022, Jack started working as a UAS Engineer at Paladin, where they continue to contribute in the field of unmanned aerial systems.

Jack McCandless attended Las Lomas High School from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a high school diploma. In 2017, they enrolled in De Anza College, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. In addition to their formal education, Jack also acquired certifications including an FAA 107 drone license from the Federal Aviation Administration and a Level 1 High Power Rocketry certification from the National Association of Rocketry (NAR).
