Estíbaliz Salazar is an engineer, majored in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and postgraduate degree in innovation management and leadership from UNIR.
She started her professional career in 2002 as a technical consultant at INECO, mainly devoted to air traffic and ATFM delays analysis. In 2006 she joined Aena, in the air navigation area, to work in the international management directorate. From 2007 to 2022 she has held various positions being responsible for the convergence between the company’s plans and European planning commitments.
She has been involved into the Spanish Local Single European Sky Implementation Plan (LSSIP) since 2003 and was appointed national focal point in 2007.
She has been part of the deployment planning of the SESAR programme for the modernisation of the European air traffic management system since its definition phase and has actively contributed to the successive editions of the European ATM Master Plan. She has also managed the company's contributions to the updates of the ICAO Global and European Air Navigation Plans.
As of June 2022, she is head of sustainability and institutional relations division.
