Maurici Lucena Betriu is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various sectors. Currently serving as Chairman and CEO of Aena since July 2018, Lucena has previously held significant positions including Director of Prudential Regulation and Public Policy at Banco Sabadell, where responsibilities included financial regulation analysis and managing relationships with supervisory institutions. Prior to this, Lucena was the spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Parlament de Catalunya and held executive roles at ISDEFE and the European Space Agency. Lucena's career also includes directorships at the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial and consultancy work in economic analysis. Lucena's educational background includes a Master's degree from the Centre for Monetary and Financial Studies and a degree in Economic and Business Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
